Van Hollis, DVM

Dr. Van Hollis grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1998. After living in Seattle, Washington, and Lake Tahoe, California, he returned to Mississippi to pursue veterinary medicine and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

After veterinary school, Dr. Hollis completed a rotating internship at MedVet in Mandeville, Louisiana, a cardiology internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, and then practiced emergency medicine for two years at South Carolina Veterinary Emergency Care in Columbia, South Carolina. He then returned to MedVet in Mandeville where he completed a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2013.

Dr. Hollis has spent more than a decade practicing in the DeSoto County area, serving pets and clients while also supporting referring veterinarians throughout North Mississippi through his mobile ultrasound and internal medicine consulting services. He enjoys helping patients and partnering with pet owners and veterinary teams to provide thoughtful, compassionate care. He is proud to be part of the Oxford community and is the proud father of twin boys (Burnham and Kent).
